A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Rebecca Minkoff runway show debuting her Spring 2017 collection, on behalf of GE Lighting, to celebrate the launch of the RMxGE Glow selfie case. It was so much fun. The best part was that it was a see-now-buy-now show, which meant that the audience was able to view the collection off the runway and shop the entire collection right after.

The collection was a mix of floral prints, flirty and whimsical silhouettes, along with statement handbags.

Car Essentials

Today’s post is a little different but thought it was very important to share. As a blogger I’m always on-the-go, from one photoshoot to another, in between meetings and outfit changes in the car…. yup. Been there done that. Still do that. I realized how important it was to have certain items in my car while working. I decided to compile a list of items I feel are essential to have in my car, and also feel every blogger should as well.

  1. ‘Absolute’ Camisole: A simple camisole is so helpful when you’re constantly changing from one outfit to another, especially in the car.
  2. Cosmetic Makeup Bag Toiletry Travel KitTouching up in between photoshoots and/or meetings are a must. After all, you gotta look your best at all times. 😉
  3. Hair Ties Ponytail HoldersHelps keep your hair out of your face when you’re changing, plus these do not leave any creases in your hair.
  4. Trident Sugar Free GumNo brainer.
  5. ‘In the Wild’ ThrowAgain, very helpful when changing in the car.
  6. Titan Mall Plastic T-shirt BagsGotta keep the car clean.
  7. Band-Aid Brand Comfort-FlexAdhesive BandagesLadies and gents, we all have those shoes that are killer (literally), so having these around are major.
  8. Lil’ Lemon Drop Daily Detangler to Go BrushI cannot tell you how many times I’ve found myself regretting not having a hair brush in handy. There has been countless times when I see photos of myself where I can see all those loose hairs that make my eye twitch (insert eye-rolling emoji here), especially when I’m attending events. Not cute.
  9. ‘Detox’ Dry ShampooLIFE. CHANGING. Because no one likes oily/greasy hair. One of my favorite dry shampoos of all time. May I also recommend Batiste dry shampoo. That one is also my fave.
  10. Deodorant: When you look and smell good, you feel good. And that’s important… plus no one wants to be around someone who smells like onions. Barf!
  11. Mobile Power Charger from Pac2Go Portable ChargerAaaah… probably one of the most important things to carry in your car or purse, honestly.
  12. Travel Size Aloe Vera Spray for Face, Skin & HairYou gotta feel fresh, too.
  13. Aveeno Daily Moisturizing LotionBecause ashy elbows and knees are not cute.
  14. Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lip BalmSo important to have, especially when changing lip colors for different outfit looks.
  15. Healthy SnacksWe all get super busy and forget to eat, which is so bad. I am guilty of this. We need to stay energize and take a moment to eat something or else we will crash, and feel very yucky.
  16. Dasani Purified WaterThis ties back to #15. Stay hydrated.
  17. Wet Ones Sensitive Skin Hand and Face WipesI have found myself wishing I had these or hand sanitizer.
  18. Makeup Remove Cloths: This ties back to #17.
  19. WizGear Universal Air Vent Magnetic Car Mount HolderHands-free is the way to be.

I hope you find this post very helpful. Feel free to share some of the items you carry around in your car.

Last week, George and I were invited to attend the Kyboe Show in Miami for Miami Swim Week. It was our first time going to Miami so you can only imagine how excited we were to attend.

We arrived super early Friday morning where we stayed at the Gale Hotel, which was AH-mazing! The first thing we did on Friday (after we took a nap of course) was walk down to the beach. I loved that it was walking distance from our hotel. We then headed back to the hotel to get ready for the show that same night.

The Kyboe show totally blew my mind when they displayed the watches on a conveyer belt, followed by actual models wearing the watches. Later that evening, we hung out with Marc bell, owner of Kyboe at the Setai Hotel for drinks.

The very next morning, we met with the Kyboe team at the Setai, where they reserved a section on the beach for all of us. It was so relaxing. That same night, Marc and his wife Jen invited us over to their home for an intimate dinner, where we took a legit party bus fully stocked with champagne. Oh, and there was a DJ on the bus, too! It was so much fun! If you didn’t follow me on snapchat and didn’t see my stories that night, then you totally missed out because their home was unbelievable! And Jen’s closet?! I mean, don’t even get me started. AMAZING!!! P.s. Jen, if you’re reading this, I can totally be your personal stylist. Just throwing it out there. 🙂

We had an incredible time. The most memorable yet. Thank you to Marc and Jen, and the entire Kyboe team for having us. It’s definitely one for the books.

Stress-Free Packing Tips for a Weekend Getaway

Who doesn’t love a quick weekend getaway? I know I do! But sometimes when you’re faced with the task of packing for just a few days it can seem a bit like a chore. Lucky for you, this post will explore what I find to be some of the best pieces to bring so that you don’t spend a lot of time packing or unpacking for your trip. In the spirit of summer, we’ll be imaging that this mini vacay will take place somewhere warm and by the sea.

Thanks to bold colors, versatile shoes, and a few basics, you’ll have everything you need to grab your bag and go without having to pack everything but the kitchen sink.

Maxi Dress

stress free packing tips, getaway, weekend getaway, vacation, vacay, baecation, travel, blogger, desert, trip, road trip, melrodstyle,

A maxi dress is a great versatile packing piece. With the right shoes and accessories, it will seamlessly take you from day to night. When the sun is up, pair one of these with flat, lace-up sandals and hit the shops, head to lunch, or use it as a swimsuit coverup. And when the sun goes down, throw on a pair of heels and statement earrings, as you head out the door for dinner, drinks, and dancing.

Lightweight Jacket

stress free packing tips, getaway, weekend getaway, vacation, vacay, baecation, travel, blogger, desert, trip, road trip, melrodstyle,

Even though it’s summer, early mornings and evenings can still get chilly, so sometimes a lightweight jacket can come in handy. Add a different texture to your getaway wardrobe by choosing a denim piece that you can throw on over all of the tops and dresses you brought along for the trip. You can roll up the sleeves for an even more chill beach vibe.

Swimsuit

stress free packing tips, getaway, weekend getaway, vacation, vacay, baecation, travel, blogger, desert, trip, road trip, melrodstyle,

When your beautifully printed one piece can double as a top, it will make packing for your weekend getaway less hectic. Choose something like the gorgeous swimsuit above and pair it with shorts and those neutral lace-up sandals you packed. If you get chilly, utilize the lightweight denim jacket mentioned earlier.

Stylish Shorts

stress free packing tips, getaway, weekend getaway, vacation, vacay, baecation, travel, blogger, desert, trip, road trip, melrodstyle,

White, high-waisted denim shorts are a great packing piece for a weekend jaunt. The neutral color works well with the tops you decide to bring along—not too many, though! And like I said previously, these also look just as great over your one-piece swimsuit, creating a stylish look that won’t require packing a lot of unnecessary tanks and tees.

Strappy Sandals

stress free packing tips, getaway, weekend getaway, vacation, vacay, baecation, travel, blogger, desert, trip, road trip, melrodstyle,

Let’s face it, more than two pairs of shoes for a weekend getaway seems like a bit much, so let’s exercise some restraint here by choosing the right ones. A pair of trendy, flat, lace-up sandals will work with everything seen on this list—maxi dress, shorts, swimsuit, and more. They’re comfy and perfect for day wear.

Statement Heels

stress free packing tips, getaway, weekend getaway, vacation, vacay, baecation, travel, blogger, desert, trip, road trip, melrodstyle,

Short trips mean your evenings out are limited to maybe one or two at the most, so bringing more than one pair of heels would be a bit much. Choose a single pair that will match everything you brought, like your maxi dress, and opt for something comfortable as well as fashionable, like the trendy block heel.

Aside from undergarments and the rogue accessory, following just a few simple suggestions will make a world of difference when preparing for your trip. And now that you’ve gotten a few pointers on packing easily and efficiently for a weekend getaway, you’ll be able to concentrate more on sipping daiquiris by the bay, than wrestling with an overstuffed suitcase.

In case you missed it, I attended the Magic Tradeshow in Las Vegas as one of the Magic influencers. It was really exciting to be on the panel with other very inspiring bloggers. I spoke in 3 different panels about YouTube, beauty, fashion and tips on how to make your brand successful.

This is what I wore for the first day. I keep the look clean and simple with this fun culottes jumpsuit and snakeskin booties.

Here’s what I wore the second day (last day). I decided to dress down with my favorite faux leather jacket, comfy jeans, and of course another snakeskin boot. To complete my outfit, I paired the look with this really cool fringe bag.

Vegas was so much fun! I had the opportunity to meet new bloggers and make new friends.

Stay tuned for my Magic Vlog.

New Year 2016

happy new year, cheers, 2016, new years eve, nye, by 2015, new, happy holidays, melrodstyle

Where do I even begin…..

Farewell 2015!

2015 was a wonderful year. This year was filled with love and great memories. Lots of wedding planning. New adventures. New friends. New beginnings. New challenges. New reflections. No regrets.

Hello 2016!

2016 is going to be another wonderful year. I just know it. This upcoming year will be filled with new beginnings. A new chapter in our lives (future hubby and I). I will be marrying the love of my life next year. I will officially be a wife (don’t panic). There is so much to look forward to, and so much that I don’t even know what to expect. But I’m excited. I’m excited for it all. To continue living my life surrounded by my dearest friends and family. To continue living my life with my other half (better half) and our four furry babies. Life is good. Life will only get better.

“taking more breaks to enjoy the ride”. That’s my goal for 2016. What’s yours?

Thank you to all of my wonderful followers. I’m so grateful for each and everyone of you. I look forward to what 2016 has in store for us, and I hope you all continue to join me as I begin a new chapter in my life.

p.s. I will have my YOUTube channel up and running for 2016. Get excited because I am!

Cheers everyone!
