I’ve been into jumpsuit a lot lately. In case you haven’t already noticed. 😉 This one is on the top list of my favorite, and also from Fame and Partners. Plus this entire look is giving me parisian vibes, and making me want to go to Europe like right now. Also, look a little like a mime, but whatevs. I really like this look, and hope you all do, too.
One of my favorite brands at the moment is Fame and Partners for obvious reasons (see polkadot jumpsuit above). I own a few pieces from the brand and I absolutely love each piece. I love the details and silhouettes. They definitely know what they’re doing when they design each piece.
This little polkadot cutie is one of my favorites. I received tons of feedback and questions about this jumpsuit. Most thought it was a dress. They do have a similar style in a form of a dress, which I’ll link below as well. It’s actually what I was suppose to wear for the wedding I attended a few weeks ago in Palm Springs. If you follow me on Instagram (@melrodstyle) and saw my stories, you know what I’m talking about. p.s. I’m linking everything below if you’re interested in purchasing this jumpsuit.
The truth is… I’m a jeans kinda gal all day everyday. It’s no surprise. And these have currently been on major repeat, and I mean MAJOR. I’m guilty when I say I’ve probably worn these in a row a few times. SORRY NOT SORRY.
Also, these boots have been my go-to date night shoes. The hubby seems to like these. win, win, win!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I am now off to even warmer temps… Palm Springs. Be sure to follow along on Instagram and IG Story (@melrodstyle).
Since there’s really no sign of Fall anywhere, light layers it is.
I shot this look in the arts district – one of my favorite places to shoot, for obvious reasons. Endless walls, every corner looks different, multiple outfit shots are a breeze around here. It’s just very convenient and easy to shoot around the arts district when you have more than one look to shoot. Quick outfit change in the car? Boom!
Today’s look is brought to you by this heat. Light layers was the closest look I was able to pull off for “fall”.
What are some of your go-to looks right now? Where are some of your favorite locations to shoot?
It’s true, you don’t need to overspend to look well put-together. You should be able to look your best and feel great at any price point.
Mixing classics items and trends together will elevate any look. It’s all about balance. Here are just a few tips I’ve learned that have helped me “master” the expensive look…
INVEST IN ACCESSORIES. If you’re going to splurge, I suggest doing so with accessories, as you’ll tend to wear them more than the same clothing. It makes more sense to spend your money on something you’ll get more wear out of as oppose to a dress you’ll maybe wear twice.
PAY ATTENTION TO FABRIC MATERIALS AND DETAILS. Before making your purchase look closely at the fabrics and check the washing contents just to make sure it is worth buying. I always look at buttons, zippers and any closure trims and stitching details before making my decision. Believe it or not – a button really shows whether the item looks cheap or not.
OUTFIT STYLING. Instead of throwing all kinds of trends together, focus on mixing classic staples with one trend. Keep the trend items to a minimum. Don’t over accessorize, because at the end of the day, you don’t want to look like a hot mess or end up on the “worst dressed” list. For example: Pair a classic blazer with a plaid skirt, and add a pop of color, such as red. Red is currently the most dominant color for Fall.
I hope these tips help you style your next look. If you have any questions or have any tips of your own, please do share. Leave a comment below. I always love hearing other people’s tips. 🙂
I’m a firm believer that when it comes to styling an outfit, jewelry plays a big part in completing the entire look, giving it the final touches it needs for a well polished outfit. I always tend to go towards golds and rose golds – not only because it compliments my skin tone better, but because it goes with more of what I have in my closet.
I’m so excited to have partnered with Michael Hill Jeweller to share a few pieces that I can’t seem to stop wearing these days. I mean, can you blame me? These rose gold stud earrings and ring are the perfect shape and size – not too dainty and not too bulky. I love how they are still very delicate pieces, yet still make such a strong statement alone. These two pieces are incredibly versatile, which I absolutely love. I can go from day to night to casual to formal, and these earrings and ring would still create a different look each time for any occasion.
If you are not familiar with Michael Hill, they are a jewelry online store that offer a wide assortment of beautiful jewelry pieces. Anywhere from engagement rings to every jewelry category to watches to even men’s accessories. They are the go-to online store for any upcoming special occasion you may have. Michael Hill is perfect for holiday gifting as well, and with the holidays right around the corner, it’s perfect timing to start that wishlist!
With Fall in full gear…. well it may still feel like Summer, but you know what I mean, the number 1 coat you need for fall is this little number right here. Why you might ask?… Well, it’s timelessly versatile, and it’s the perfect layering piece this season. Consider this your go-to cover-up for chilly nights. It’s the holy grail of coats.
I styled my coat, which by the way I’ve had for a year now, with burgundy and camel tones. See what I mean…? This coat is such a classic item to have, because it will never go out of style. I need this coat in every color, please!
What are some of your favorite coats this season? Let me know. 🙂
Boy are these hats sure having a major moment this fall. Am I right or am I right? I feel like everyone is trying to achieve that french-girl look to the max – including myself. No shame in my game. I mean, who doesn’t want to look parisian-chic and french-y-ish. Yup, that’s not a word, but you know what I mean.
Fall hats are the perfect accessory to make an outfit stand out, and look more complete and polished. From berets to newsboy styles to baseball caps to all fashionable toppers – you name it.
Here are just a few hats that I am totally into this season that I know will carry on over to the next.
The Baker Boy Cap. Such an old-school piece and favorite one of mine right now. When I saw these trending last year, I didn’t run to the nearest mall to purchase a few. I literally went to my parent’s home, and literally raided my mom’s closet, because if anyone is the queen of accessories and fabulous hats, it’s my mom – for sure.
The Beret. Ahhhh yes, another favorite style. Also, another one that I took borrowed from my mom.
The Cloche Hat. A major throwback trend that is hitting the streets and runway during fashion week.
The Parker Brimmed Cap. It’s a mix between a baseball cap and a polo cap. It’s such a sleek and sophisticated hat style that I think will be just as trendy as the beret.
