I’ve partnered with Dove Hair to try the #SkipAWash Challenge with Dove Refresh + Care Detox & Purify Dry Shampoo, and the rumors are true! It’s beyond ah-mazing!!!
I have been wanting to try this for quite some time now, and am so happy I finally did. The Dove Dry Shampoo leaves my hair feeling so fresh and smelling delicious. I don’t wash my hair everyday (I usually go a day or two), and with this dry shampoo, I am able to skip an extra day or two without leaving visible residue. My hair feels clean and purified.
It is super easy to use. Here’s how to use the Dove Dry Shampoo:
Step 1: Shake can before and during use. Spray on lifted sections of dry hair, 8-12 inches from roots, where hair is most oily.
Step 2: Massage through roots to absorb oil evenly.
Step 3: Brush through for hair that is revived and clean.
Done and done!
Join the Dove Hair #SkipaWash Challenge and try Dove Refresh+Care Detox & Purify Dry Shampoo and get an extra day (or two!) out of your blowout. 🙂
So last week, I decided to attempt to do the crown braid. I’ve done it before but with extensions, which made it much easier than this time around. I don’t know, what do you all think? Did I do ok? I think I did.
If you follow me on instagram (@melrodstyle), you may have seen my recent visit to The Local Salon. I got one of the best blowouts (see photo above). They carry SEVEN haircare products, which I learned so much during my visit. I got the dry shampoo, the hair serum and deep conditioner, which I cannot wait to try! The best part was the people that worked there. Super friendly and so welcoming.
If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend booking you next hair appointment with The Local Salon. They take good care of you.
You may remember this sparkly crown from last year’s birthday. Well, If you’re in need of some inspiration for the Holidays or even New Year’s Eve, this party crown is just perfect. It’s super easy to make, oh and did I mention it only cost me $1.29?! I know, right?!!
Nicole Miller can do no wrong. From the prints to the detailing, Nicole Miller nails it each season. Today’s look takes us back to New York City during fashion week strolling around Bryant Park in my Nicole Miller crop and midi skirt. And of course, comfy oxfords because by day 4, my feet couldn’t hold up any longer in heels.
P.S. Noticed anything different? Tried a new hair trend. What do you think?
Happy mid-week everyone and happy 1st of the month!
If you asked me a few months ago what type of hair spray I use, I would tell you none because I never wore any. I was just never a fan of hair spray. Perhaps because I never found the right one that actually held my hair in place without the stiffness and stickiness. That all changed not too long ago after discovering Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Touchable and I stand by their products 100% because of the way it makes my hair feel.
So guess what?! Sexy Hair is has partnered with Project Mermaids to find the most creative and unique mermaid-inspired hairstyles in the Sexy Hair Mermaid Contest, which is going on now through August 11th so be sure to enter! Winner will be flown to LA to receive a two-night stay and two-part mermaid themed photo shoot. In addition, the lucky winner will be invited back to LA to attend the Project Mermaid book launch party and gallery showing. Be sure to enter. Good luck!
Coconut oil is officially my go-to when it comes to my skin. I’ve decided to ditch a few of my regular beauty skin products and swap it out for some coconut oil. Here’s 5 ways I’ve incorporated coconut oil into my beauty routine…
1. Dry skin – I’ve been mainly using it on dry areas of my skin, such as my elbows, knees and heels. Just remember – a little goes a long way.
2. Scalp – I’ve been using a tiny amount on my scalp near my forehead to keep my scalp nicely moisturized without leaving it too oily. Again, use a small amount. Also makes a great hair serum.
Summer will be here before we know it and I couldn’t more excited! I love Summer. It’s my favorite season because of the weather (obvi), which means more sun and more beach time. I’ve put together just a few essentials for Summer that I am totally digging.
Chloe + Isabel Jardins Du Midi – Recently, they launched their very first fragrance, which has won me over. The scent is very fresh, soft and playful – just the way I like it.
Sole Society Montana Braided Leather Bucket Bag – Fortunately, my very first bucket bag happens to be a Balenciaga (I know, I know) and they’re really trending these days, which makes me happy and makes me want to buy another bucket bag. This one is currently sitting in my shopping cart.
Valley Eyewear – If you know me you know I own one two many sunnies (j/k no such thing as too many, right?!). I especially am digging on these particular pair. They’re so chic and simple. These Bondi Red Reef pair have also caught my eye and are so right on point for this season.
If you follow me on instagram @melrodstyle, you’d know that over the weekend, I got a blow out at Beautique 119. It’s located in the Phenix Salon Suites in Brea and if you’re like me who’s never been before, it is pretty amazing. What I love most about Beautique 119, is that it is very intimate and since Leticia never double books, it’s a more relaxing one on one experience, which makes all the difference.
The products used on my hair are Davines and the product speaks for themselves because my hair hasn’t felt so soft and smooth in so long.
There are very few salons I can say I had a great experience and this is one of them. My hair felt great, I felt great and cannot wait to go back soon!
Smashbox New Liquid Halo HD Foundation is the next best thing I’ve yet discovered. It will leave you having the best skin ever looking flawless in no time. This foundation is infused with 100% gel-covered pigments that mimic photo filter to blue imperfections.
Supergoop: one of my new favorite self tanning sunscreen. It’s light and smells great.
I love curls and I curl my hair very often, however when I was introduced to the Theorie Flat Iron, I was beyond convinced that this is by far one of the best flat irons there is. It’s easy to use and style your hair, plus you don’t have to worry about the hassle of detangling the cord because this special iron is designed with a heat resistant textile cord.
Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs is exactly what it’s called: it airbrushes your legs hiding scars, spider veins, blemishes – you name it. It also adds a tint giving you a nicer even color. It’s photoshop in a little bottle!
