I love the holidays only because everyone is always so merry and gay and full of love and happiness, and I love it all. I wish we could all be this way all year long and not just around the holidays – but something about the holidays and this time of year just makes you feel this way, and puts you in a jolly ol’ mood. Agree or disagree?

Here are 5 things I’m looking forward to this holiday…

  1. Spending time with friends and family.
  2. Playing games, like Catch Phrase and Cards Against Humanity. So much fun!
  3. New Years is by far one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. I love dressing up and being so festive and surrounded by the most important people in my life.
  4. I love watching Christmas movies.
  5. And last but not least (my favorite favorite of all favorite things), I’m so ready for Tamales!

The theme for my birthday was Bow ties and Tiaras, so I decided to make myself a sparkly crown… duh!

Here’s how I made it:

  • I used pipe cleaner ($1.29)
  • Headband that I already had (free)
  • First, I wrapped the pipe cleaner around the headband covering the entire band.
  • Then I began creating the shape of the crown by bending and twisting around the headband for support.
  • Repeat this until you have the desired crown.

This DIY was not only easy to make but inexpensive to make. The UO crown (shown in first photo) is $14 and my Mel Made Crown only cost me $1.29.
