The holidays are most definitely one of my favorite times of year. I love everything – the food, the decorating, the time spent with close friends, family and loved ones, the holiday parties and events. I love it all. One of the only things I do not look forward to is the holiday shopping. Don’t get me wrong – I love shopping for others, but I have a bad habit of waiting until the very last minute to get all of my holiday shopping done. Guilty! Who else is guilty of this? Raise your hand!
One thing that is important and that I know very well, is not only shopping in style, but comfortable. This is my biggest tip when shopping. Always dress comfortably, especially when selecting the right pair of shoes. After all, you will be doing a lot of walking.
With the holidays quickly approaching and the last-minute holiday shopping, it is very important to be in the most comfortable shoes. Whenever I am on the go, you can bet I will be in my trusty flats. I always opt for a flat shoe that will keep me running errands and what-not comfortably throughout the entire day.
We all know that sparkles and velvet are a must during the holidays, which is why I can’t get enough of these burgundy beauties from Naturalizer. While I love my heels and boots, flats are definitely without a doubt, my go-to shoe for hustling and bustling during the holidays. The best part is that these flats are festive enough for all your holiday parties. These can take you from day to night, and you can style them casual or dress them up. It’s a win-win!
This post is sponsored; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I’m a firm believer that when it comes to styling an outfit, jewelry plays a big part in completing the entire look, giving it the final touches it needs for a well polished outfit. I always tend to go towards golds and rose golds – not only because it compliments my skin tone better, but because it goes with more of what I have in my closet.
I’m so excited to have partnered with Michael Hill Jeweller to share a few pieces that I can’t seem to stop wearing these days. I mean, can you blame me? These rose gold stud earrings and ring are the perfect shape and size – not too dainty and not too bulky. I love how they are still very delicate pieces, yet still make such a strong statement alone. These two pieces are incredibly versatile, which I absolutely love. I can go from day to night to casual to formal, and these earrings and ring would still create a different look each time for any occasion.
If you are not familiar with Michael Hill, they are a jewelry online store that offer a wide assortment of beautiful jewelry pieces. Anywhere from engagement rings to every jewelry category to watches to even men’s accessories. They are the go-to online store for any upcoming special occasion you may have. Michael Hill is perfect for holiday gifting as well, and with the holidays right around the corner, it’s perfect timing to start that wishlist!
The temperature has finally dropped below 70, feels cooler (a lot cooler) outside, and we are in the clear to say that it’s beginning to feel a lot of Fall! Yay! Anyone else just as excited as I am about this?! With a new season comes new trends and new wardrobe… obviously. Hello Fall, Hello red!
I’ve been seeing a lot of reds and maroons, pant suits, and color blocking play EVERYWHERE, epsecially on my Instagram feed, and quite honestly not surprised either. One in particular that has grabbed my attention is the color red. Red is such a powerful color. It makes such a strong statement alone, and easy to create an effortless outfit when you’re in a rush. It’s definitely one of my go-to colors right now for this season. If you know me you know that I steer far from a bold lip or any darker hues when it comes to beauty, however; as you grow, you tend to develop new loves and interests, and red has definitely grown on me. One that I happen to keep wearing over and over again. I’ve found myself wearing red more often than usual. If you asked me last year what my go-to wardrobe and beauty palettes were, I’d probably say neutrals and of course black. I’m very particular with adding pops of color in my wardrobe. Fast forward to today, I’m for sure playing with more colors and adding new tones in my life both wardrobe and makeup – and I ain’t mad about it.
What are some of your favorite Fall trends at the moment? What are some trends you’re currently wearing that you never thought you’d wear before? Would love to hear them.
Instagram Content – To Post Or Not To Post? That is The Question.
I wanted to talk about a slightly different topic than normal on here – about the thought process behind scheduling my Instagram posts and my entire Instagram feed itself…
“Is it a GOOD photo or is it mediocre?” “Does it look good on my feed?” “Should I start posting only outfit photos and not coffee drinks or pretty flatlays because my outfits get higher engagement?” “Should I completely change my entire feed and try something new?” “Should I share things other than fashion?” “Should I play it safe and only post content that I already know will do well?” ” or should I change it up and not care?” “What direction should I take?” Asking for a friend.
This is how I’ve been feeling lately. I have been in one of those moods where I feel stuck in a rut, confused, lost. Getting out of this weird “funk” is sometimes difficult. Or maybe I’m just having a moment. It happens. I feel like other bloggers know what I’m talking about. I’ve noticed that whenever I post a photo other than outfits, it doesn’t get the reaction I would’ve hoped for. Engagement is super low. While I love my feed to have a variety and not just outfit after another, seems like my followers are not into it. They only like my outfit photos. So what do I do? Should I only post what my followers like instead of what I like?
Don’t get me wrong. I do post what I like and I stay true to myself, but sometimes I look at my feed and think “(Yawning) Ugh, I could’ve done better”. “Boring”. And I don’t like feeling this way.
While you’ll see more of my personality and personal side on my Instagram stories and Snapchat, I do keep my Instagram account strictly blog-related content. I have to. It’s my business, however; you will see my fun-witty-sarcastic side (read IG captions), and share content that is still relevant but not just an OOTD after another OOTD… make sense? That’s what my personal account is for – to show content that isn’t blog-related.
The way I see my Instagram account is if it looks boring to me, then I need to make some changes. I like content that shows some type of breakage, that splits content from repeating similar content in a row, such as beauty or details shots or anything inspiring. I like consistency but not repetitive if that makes any sense.
So while I still try to figure out the plans for my Instagram feed and the direction I plan to take, I do hope that you stick around because I do plan to sprinkle in some new not-your-usual content on my Instagram.
If you have any suggestions or thoughts on this post, feel free to leave me a comment. I love reading them. 🙂
Last year, we were introduced to the basket bag. Today, still the most wanted, high in demand bag this season is none other than the rattan basket bag or what most people call – the picnic basket bag… You might’ve seen this bag flooding your Instagram feed – whether it’s an influencers wearing it or your favorite celebrity. This bag is all the rage.
I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite basket bags (all under $100) that I found on Etsy. Begin slideshow by clicking left arrow above.
A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Rebecca Minkoff runway show debuting her Spring 2017 collection, on behalf of GE Lighting, to celebrate the launch of the RMxGE Glow selfie case. It was so much fun. The best part was that it was a see-now-buy-now show, which meant that the audience was able to view the collection off the runway and shop the entire collection right after.
The collection was a mix of floral prints, flirty and whimsical silhouettes, along with statement handbags.
Whether you’re in dire need of new ankle boots to replace your worn soles or simply need a style update, shopping online is one of the most convenient ways to get a new pair or two. Making shoe purchases online can also save you a lot of money because of all the discounts and special offers you can get. Here are five of the best ways to find the best deals on ankle boots online:
Check out coupon sites.
If you want to slash up to 75% off the cost of your purchase, there’s no better way to do it than using coupon codes for ankle boots. Coupon sites offer products and services from top brands at discounted prices and you can even score special offers such as free delivery or a free pair of shoes. Voucher codes are great for those who want to stay in style and have trendy ankle boots but don’t have the budget to buy them at full price. You can get voucher codes for Public Desire by visiting Total Discounts and then you just need to apply the code when you check out. Remember though, it’s important to act quickly, as coupon codes have an expiration date and you have to make your purchase while they’re still valid.
Visit retailer or manufacturer sites.
Shoe brands usually have post-season or clearance sales on their products, so it would be a good idea to bookmark their websites and watch out for sales. It may involve a lot of waiting, but your efforts will surely pay off when you get your coveted ankle boots on sale. As with coupon codes, when buying at clearance sales you’ll have to move fast to make sure the pair you want in your size is still in stock. Many brands also provide discounts for students at uni, an incentive you don’t want to let go of. To get notified about clearance sales and exclusive deals, join the brand’s online community, subscribe to the newsletter or follow them on social media so you can receive promo announcements right away.
Browse around online marketplaces.
Online marketplaces such as like eBay offer items that are new or have never been used, pre-loved or slightly used. Sellers on these sites let potential buyers haggle or pay the listed price upfront. If you don’t mind wearing slightly used shoes, these online marketplaces are great places to find a good, affordable pair. If you’re hunting for ankle boots that aren’t sold in shops anymore, someone on eBay probably has them up for sale. It may require a bit of hard work, but you’ll surely score a great deal.
Consider clothing and shoe swaps.
Swapping clothes and shoes with other trendy folks is another way to find ankle boots online. There are websites that provide a platform for people who would rather swap clothes and shoes than sell. If you have items you no longer wear or use such as knee-high boots or a coat in the wrong colour, someone online may want them in exchange for ankle boots and a matching jacket. Swapping online is usually free or may involve a small fee for shipping but it’s definitely a sure-fire way of finding ankle boots at a low price or at no cost at all.
